This is a list of considerations when you're setting up your account. You can find descriptions for everything on the helpdesk. Links below go to the pages when you're logged in.
Initial setup
- If you eventually intend to manage trainees, even if you're just purchasing for yourself now, choose the company option when you register the account. We can also set up the account for you.
- Set up any groups on the Groups page, e.g. one for each branch
- Set up your profile - name, company and phone are useful to add
- Invite managers who will help you manage your trainees from the Managers page
- Set the manager's permissions in Site settings.
- Download any documents related to courses you've purchased from the Documents and checklists page. The most useful are practical assessment checklists
- If the course you purchased has optional modules, you'll get an email the first time you purchase it. Deselect modules that are not relevant for your trainees from the Module selection page. E.g. if you purchase the forklift operator's certificate course and you have a diesel forklift, disabling the lithium-ion battery module is a good idea
Adding your trainees
- Invite or add them - click here to see all the ways you can do this
- If you have any trainees who have done courses with other providers, you can add training records in DT to help you manage those trainees from the Training records page. These can be added one by one or imported.
Managing your trainees
- Adjust your email settings after a while if you're receiving too many
- Run reports
- Complete validations/verifications when trainees need a practical assessment
- Book practical assessments at TR Driver Training for blended courses
- Check the activity log if you need to know what's been happening.
